Product description

Do you want to continue using your electric scooter or electric bicycle safely even during the winter? These studs are the perfect solution to get better grip on slippery winter roads. With simple installation, you can quickly turn your regular tires into winter tires. The package contains 100 durable steel studs that provide increased safety and stability in winter conditions. You can choose between 4 x 9mm and 4 x 12mm sizes, and a bit is included to easily screw the studs into the tires.

We do not recommend the use of studded tires on dry roads as it gives poor grip but also wear on the tyre.

Laws & regulations

Electric scooter
An electric scooter is considered a bicycle if it has a maximum speed of 20 km/h and a motor with no more than 250 W. If the electric scooter exceeds 20 km/h speed or has a motor with more than 250 W, different rules apply. The next classification is Moped Class II and then Moped Class I. There are technical requirements, such as braking systems, that must be met for an electric scooter to be classified as a moped. Essentially, if it reaches up to 25 km/h it is considered Moped Class II, while if the speed exceeds 40 km/h and the engine is stronger than 250 W it is classified as Moped Class I. For Moped Class I, an AM license is required , the vehicle must be registered, and a helmet must be worn. Moped class II requires a driver's license and mandatory use of a helmet. If the electric scooter does not meet the requirements for bicycle, moped class I or II, it may not be used on public roads.

Electric bike
For the requirements to apply to an electric bicycle, the motor must be limited to 250 W and only assist pedaling up to 25 km/h. The e-bike must also be pedaled for the motor to work. Deviation from these requirements results in the classification as a moped with associated rules.

We strongly recommend the use of a helmet, especially if the driver is under the age of 15, although it is not mandatory.

For more information about which rules apply to electric scooters and electric bicycles, read more at the Swedish Transport Agency.
